Have you ever looked at a situation in your life and thought, This is hopeless. Nothing is changing. It’s too far gone? Maybe it’s a relationship that feels beyond repair, finances that seem stuck, or dreams that feel like they’ve withered away.

But here’s the truth—just because something looks dead doesn’t mean God is finished with it.

Whew! Thank you, Lord!

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” That means the words you speak hold power—the power to destroy or the power to resurrect.

Can These Dry Bones Live?

In Ezekiel 37, God takes the prophet Ezekiel to a valley full of dry bones. These weren’t just dead—they had been dead for a long time. God asks Ezekiel, “Can these bones live?” Instead of answering with doubt, Ezekiel says, “Lord, you alone know.”

And what does God tell him to do?
Speak to the bones.

Ezekiel obeys, prophesying over what seems impossible, and suddenly, the bones start rattling, flesh forms, and breath enters them. What was once lifeless became a mighty army—all because of the power of speaking life.

What in Your Life Needs Revival?

Think about areas in your life that feel like a valley of dry bones:

Just like Ezekiel, you have the authority to speak life over these situations. Instead of agreeing with the enemy’s lies, start declaring God’s promises.

Real-World Example:
A woman named Sarah had been struggling with infertility for years. Doctors gave her little hope, and she was ready to give up. But instead of speaking defeat, she started declaring, “My body is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all I ask (Ephesians 3:20).” After years of waiting, she conceived and held her miracle baby.

What if the breakthrough you’re waiting for is on the other side of your words?

When the Church Hurts: 10 Things NOT to Do After You’ve Been Wounded

I’ve gone back and forth on whether to write about this, partly because I’m still walking through it myself. Just last week, I made the difficult decision to leave my church of ten years. I won’t go into the details here; that’s a story for another day. What I will say is this: even…

Devotional: Picked Last but Chosen by God

I remember in Elementary school, during P.E., we’d have a team captain, and we’d all line up to be picked one by one. It was dreadful because you didn’t want to be last, but I almost always was. Sometimes, I’d be picked second to last, and I’d breathe a sigh of relief for that one…
