Dear Black Community: Stop Enabling Sexual Predators
I hone in on black girls because there is an alarmingly higher rate of sexual abuse of black women. According to the Bureau of Justice, 60% of black girls are sexually abused. In addition, there is a code of silence in the black community that continues to haunt us today. We don’t like to talk about abuse. We rather sweep it under the rug and pretend it did not happen.
