I hadn’t felt like myself in a while.
And then came the guilt… Because I had prayed for this life. But the guilt didn’t erase the ache.
It didn’t silence the feeling of losing myself in the noise….
The laundry. The appointments. The unanswered texts.
The dishes. The breastfeeding. The long school pickup lines.
The never-ending theme days. The changing seasons of my marriage.
The needs of my husband. The career goals. The lack of goals.
The expectations from them. The expectations I put on myself.
The expectations from the world… many of them completely unrealistic.
And somewhere along the way… I forgot who I was beyond the roles and expectations. What do I like? What don’t I like? What makes me happy? What do I enjoy doing for fun? What do I truly want?
And worst of all… I started showing up in God’s presence disconnected, distracted, and, since I’m being transparent, disinterested.
Have you ever felt that?
That slow, silent fading of yourself while still trying to be everything for everyone else? Add to that the feeling that you’re making all this effort and still somehow getting it wrong…
The Confusion and Disconnect
We don’t always talk about the mental fog that creeps in as women.
We aren’t taught or prepared for adulting, being a wife, motherhood, our bodies constantly changing( hormone shifts, aging, mental capacity shifts), unspoken pressures, and once again… expectations.
Sometimes the disconnect we feel in our spiritual lives is not because God is distant or that we somehow did something wrong. It’s just “life be life-ing” sometimes. Simply put. It’s because seasons change, and what worked in the past may not work for you in the present. Your capacity has changed. Your health has changed. Your body has changed. Mama, you’ve changed. And you know what, all of that is normal.
So, now that we’ve got all that out, where do we go from here?
Here is another truth: He is there.
Waiting. Whispering.
Inviting us back to discover a rhythm of grace amidst beautiful chaos.
Returning to Joy, Identity, and Presence
This isn’t about going back to the woman you once were. She’s different now. She’s got experience under her belt. She’s got pain. She’s gone through some healing. She’s still going through some healing. She’s got depth to her now with a hint of sparkle.
This is about moving forward, becoming who you truly are in Him, RIGHT NOW.
Joy isn’t something we wait for. It’s a fruit we choose.
The joy of the Lord is not a feeling. It’s a foundation.
Even in the chaos, joy is still possible.
Even through loss, delay, and exhaustion joy still lives.
Identity isn’t in the titles. It’s in the truth.
You’re not just a mom, wife, or caretaker.
You are a daughter of the King.
You were chosen before the foundation of the world.
You are more than the role you’re in.
Presence is still available to you.
God isn’t calling you to strive.
He’s calling you to be.
You don’t need a perfect routine or an hour of silence.
You just need to be honest and willing to return.
My Prayer: “God, Show Me How to Come Back to Me”
I started whispering this prayer in my car, on the couch, in late-night hours when the house was asleep and I stayed awake for a moment to myself:
“God, show me how to return to joy, to identity, to You.
Show me how to feel like myself again spiritually, emotionally, even physically.”
And piece by piece… He is
Through journaling.
Through slowing down.
Through reminding me that His presence isn’t something I have to earn. It’s something I can receive.
A Tool For You to Walk into Freedom.
One of the greatest things God used in each of my healing seasons is journaling. There is something powerful about journaling our thoughts, prayers, and especially God’s answers.
Of course, its not the answer to everything.
But it’s a gentle way to return to yourself. To Him.
To joy. To purpose. To peace.
Something shifted when I realized this…
God wasn’t asking for my perfect focus. He was asking for me.
It shifted how I approached prayer, identity, and spiritual rest.
Out of that personal rediscovery came something I didn’t expect…
A journal.
A lifeline.
A rhythm of grace in the middle of the chaos.
It’s called the 14-Day Busy Mom’s Prayer Journal, and it was born not from perfection, but from permission. Permission to be human. To be tired. To be a woman of God… still learning to rest in Him.
It’s more than a journal. It’s a faith reset.
This printable journal is designed to meet you in the messiest seasons of motherhood and gently draw you back to God. Not with pressure. Not with guilt. But with presence.
Each day includes:
-
A Power Prayer (a focused, heart-shifting prayer that starts with “God, show me…”)
-
A Scripture or biblical truth to anchor your day
-
A Life-giving journal prompt that invites real reflection, healing, and breakthrough
Before we go any further, I want to pause and explain something you’ve probably noticed: I talk about “Power Prayers” a lot. So, let’s talk about what that actually means.
What Is a Power Prayer?
It’s not about long words or fancy language.
A Power Prayer is you taking the expectations off yourself and directing your focus straight to God.
It’s short, Spirit-led, and speaks straight to the real stuff you’re walking through.
It sounds like this,Â
“God, show me who I am beyond the roles.”
“Lord, remind me that joy isn’t a feeling. It’s a fruit.”
“God, help me stop trying to fix it and start trusting You to finish it.”
These prayers are honest. Transformational. And they’ll meet you exactly where you are. Most importantly, they put the focus on what God can do.
A Peek Inside this Transformational 14-Day Journey
The 5-Minute Busy Mom Prayer journal is divided into 7 powerful Faith Focuses (categories). Each one speaks to a woman who’s ready to rediscover, realign, and rebuild with grace.
1. Rediscovering Me
Who am I beyond motherhood, to-do lists, and expectations?
This section gently pulls back the layers and invites you to reconnect with the woman God designed you to be.
📝 Journal Prompt: What parts of me have I buried that God is gently nudging me back to?
2. Alignment with God
Get back in rhythm with the Holy Spirit. Learn how to release old plans and walk confidently into God’s direction even if it looks unfamiliar.
3. Resting in Him
Rest isn’t just physical. It’s a sacred resistance to the hustle. This focus area teaches you how to receive rest as a spiritual gift.
4. The Joy of the Lord
Joy isn’t something we wait for; it’s something we choose. Rediscover joy as your strength, not just a feeling.
5. Surrender
Sometimes we think surrender means losing. But surrender is where true transformation begins.
6. Overcoming Disappointment
Not everything turned out the way we hoped. This section provides space for you to process the losses and see how God still brings beauty from broken expectations.
7. Loving My Body Again
From childbirth to exhaustion, our bodies carry so much. This final focus area is a healing journey back to compassion, for the temple God placed us in.
My Heart Behind This Journal
This journal isn’t about doing more.
It’s about remembering who you are… in Him.
I created this because I know what it’s like to feel spiritually disconnected.
I’ve sat in the guilt. I’ve battled the distractions.
I’ve felt like I didn’t have the capacity to “go deep.”
But God kept whispering:Â Â Â
This journal is that five-minute shift.
A soft space. A holy invitation.
And a chance to walk with God in the season you’re actually in.

Final Thoughts: You’re Right Where You Need to Be, Mama.
Maybe you’ve been distant.
Maybe you’re exhausted.
Maybe you’ve forgotten how to be still, laugh, or even recognize yourself.
But you are not too far gone. You’re right where you need to be. God did not bring you to this blog post by accident.
God is not asking you to be who you were.
He’s inviting you to become who He still sees you as, even in your busiest, most distracted season.
It’s time to return to joy.
To identity.
To presence. Its time breathe in freedom and enjoy your “best life” yet. It’s time!
With Joy,
Ebby
