Happy New Year!
I’m still soaking in the fact that it is 2024!
Whew!
Its about to be an amazing year!
Everything that was setup in 2023 will manifest this year! In Jesus name!
I am not one to wait till the beginning of the year to start something. I believe in starting wherever you find yourself, regardless of whether it’s the middle, end, or start of the year. However, I do believe in preparing for the year to go the right way and making room for what you are believing God for. So, as the calendar turns the page to a new year, it’s the perfect opportunity for us, as Christian women, to embrace a season of renewal and intentionally declutter our lives—both physically and spiritually. That may sound like a lot but we will take it piece by piece.
No rushing.
There is no immediate deadline.
We are going to embrace the journey while we declutter our lives with purpose and faith. Amen?
Just as we tidy up our homes, let’s also declutter our hearts, minds, and routines to make space for the blessings God has in store for us.
1. Declutter Your Mind with Prayer:
-
- Start by decluttering your mind through prayer. Take intentional moments to connect with God, sharing your hopes, fears, and dreams. Release any burdens and anxieties, allowing His peace to fill your thoughts.
2. Simplify Your Schedule with Godly Priorities:
-
- Evaluate your schedule and commitments. Are there activities that no longer align with your values or God’s purpose for your life? Seek His guidance in prioritizing your time, focusing on what truly matters.
3. Clear Out Physical Clutter:
-
- Tackling physical clutter can have a profound impact on our mental well-being. Dedicate time to decluttering your living spaces, letting go of items that no longer serve a purpose or as Marie Kondo would say, get rid of anything that does not bring you joy. Consider donating to those in need as an act of generosity.
4. Organize Your Spiritual Life:
-
- Take stock of your spiritual practices. Are you consistently spending time in the Word? Consider setting up a designated space for prayer, meditation, and reflection, creating a sacred place where you can deepen your relationship with God.
5. Release Unforgiveness and Grudges:
-
- The new year is an ideal time to release any bitterness or unforgiveness in your heart. Leave those things in the old year. Allow God’s love and grace to flow through you, extending forgiveness to others as He has forgiven you. (You don’t have to pretend. If you are struggling ask God to help you) Mark 11:25 “And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done.”
6. Evaluate Relationships:
-
- Reflect on your relationships. Are there toxic connections that need to be released? Distance yourself from people who drain you or shift your energy. Surround yourself with those who uplift, encourage, and share in your faith journey.
7. Renew Your Commitment to Self-Care:
-
- Prioritize self-care as an essential aspect of decluttering. Remember that caring for yourself allows you to better serve others. Seek activities that nourish your body, mind, and spirit. Again, make it a priority!
8. Set Godly Goals:
-
- Instead of traditional resolutions, set Godly goals for the year ahead. Seek His guidance in areas like personal growth, professional growth, serving others, and deepening your faith.
9. Create Space for Reflection:
-
- Build moments of reflection into your routine. Regularly assess your progress, expressing gratitude for God’s guidance and acknowledging areas where you can continue to grow.
10. Embrace the Joy of a Decluttered Life:
As you embark on this decluttering injourney, embrace the joy that comes with simplifying your life and aligning it with God’s purpose. Trust that as you create space, God will fill it with His abundant blessings.
This new year, let’s step into it with faith, purpose, and a decluttered heart, ready to embrace the blessings God has prepared for us.
May it be a year of growth, joy, and deepening connections with our Heavenly Father.
Happy New Year on Purpose, sis!
