I’m a Mom Because of a Birth Mother

As an adoptive mom, Birth Mother’s Day holds a special place in my heart. It’s a day to honor the courageous women who made the selfless decision to place their children for adoption and who gave my family the greatest gift we could ever receive.

On this day, I am filled with gratitude for the birth mothers who entrusted us with the precious task of raising and loving our children.

I am in awe of their strength and resilience, knowing that the decision to place a child for adoption is never an easy one. I imagine the heartache they must have felt, the tears they must have shed, and the courage it took to follow through with such a difficult choice.

And yet, in the midst of their pain and uncertainty, birth mothers show incredible love and generosity. They chose to put their child’s needs first, even at great personal cost. They gave my family the gift of a child to love, cherish, and raise as our own, and we will be forever grateful.

So on Birth Mother’s Day, I want to say thank you, especially to my son’s birth mother. Thank you for your courage, your love, and your selflessness. Thank you for agreeing to keep in touch and agreeing to share a bond like no other. Thank you for trusting us with this sweet boy that you carried in your womb and for allowing us to be a part of your story. And thank you for reminding us that love knows no bounds and that family is not just about biology but about the bonds of the heart.

I am absolutely in love with our beautiful son, and I thank God that He chose both of us to be his mother.

With Love,

Ebby
