Are You Manifesting Or Manipulating? Part II

What is manifest? It’s being thrown around like it’s new or something. You’ve probably heard it used by both Believers & Nonbelievers. Though, I’ve seen some Believers shy away from it, thinking it’s too “worldly.” Yet, how many times have godly things been warped by the world… I’ll wait.

...Since the beginning of time,” right?

The denotative definition of Manifest is “To make clear or evident to the eye or the understanding.” Sounds familiar? I thought so too. It reminded me of the scripture Hebrews 11:1, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen.” Manifest is nothing new. If we can think in our minds (believe it), it can happen in the natural. (Ephesians 3:20) Let me remind you of a few more scriptures….

I am a huge advocate for manifesting our God-Given desires through prayer and living a life you don’t need a vacation from. Yet, with all our manifest power, it can quickly shift to a spirit of manipulation, as I have been guilty of. If you haven’t read part I, definitely do that first. Click HERE.

In my last post, I talked about how a shift happened in my life where the windows of heaven opened, and I started receiving answer after answer to some big, crazy faith prayers.

Battling Infertility

I spent years battling infertility. I’ve been to more doctor’s appointments than I can count. I have more tests and procedures than I can remember. I tried everything from fertility drugs to IVF and surgeries, but nothing seemed to work. Then, one day everything shifted. I had gone through my last cycle of IVF, and it was our last set of eggs and a failed cycle. I was sad and disappointed that we had used all of our eggs to experience multiple miscarriages and then a failed cycle. I remember sitting in my car one day, ruminating about the whole process. I was tired. I still held on to the belief that God would allow me to carry children one day, and He would have a miracle happen that was completely out of my control. At that moment, I let go of how I thought it would happen and decided to enjoy the life God had already blessed me with. After all, I was currently living an answered prayer. I focused on what was going well with my life and the things in my control. I gave it to God that day, not only with my words but in my heart. Two months later, I was pregnant. No fertility drugs or anything. Just what is called a spontaneous pregnancy.

Being Single

The same shift happened in my singleness. I was tired of being sad, angry, and disappointed that God hadn’t given me a husband. I decided one day that I would enjoy my life TODAY. I wasn’t waiting until I met my husband. I still believed in my heart that God would answer, but I no longer worried about how or when it would happen; I would enjoy my life regardless. Let me be honest; I would say this multiple times and then go back on my word and start worrying about it again.

Yet, when I truly surrendered in my heart, a shift happened.

That is when I allowed God to place it in my heart instead of doing it in my own strength. I met my husband the following week. We’ve been together for over ten years.

5 Ways to Know You Are Manifesting.

  1. You’re Not Anxious About the Outcome. There should be a peace that surpasses all understanding despite what it looks like.
  2. You’re in Alignment With God’s Will. Again, there is a peace that surpasses all understanding when you are in the Will of God.
  3. Your Intentions Are Pure. Your desires don’t just benefit you. God’s will be done over your own will.
  4. You’re Coming From a Place of Positivity and Gratitude. You will wait on God with a joyful heart because you trust His perfect plan for your life.
  5. You’re Obedient Even When It’s Uncomfortable. You’re willing to follow God even if it’s something you don’t want to do.

Manifesting the life you desire doesn’t mean you won’t experience waiting. It doesn’t mean it won’t be painful. There won’t be tears of frustration or disappointment. We are human. I love what Brene Brown says about disappointment, “Disappointment… is an incredible opportunity for meaningful connections.” Isn’t that beautiful?

Disappointment can lead to a connection with God more profound than we can imagine.

It reminds me of the scripture,

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10

We won’t always feel positive every moment, and you shouldn’t put that type of pressure on yourself. There is a reason there are emotions and feelings like anger, sadness, etc.) and it is OK to feel them. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty for being angry, frustrated, or disappointed, even if it’s with God. He already knows how you feel anyway. He rather your realness than pretend everything is OK. Besides,

healing doesn’t happen when we pretend everything is OK.

You don’t sit around waiting for something to happen. Waiting is active, and there are things to move you through your waiting season and ways to find beauty in the journey. 5 Truths About Manifest.

  1. You are worthy of great things happening in your life.
  2. You must be in alignment with God before manifestation can take place.
  3. There is no manifestation without prayer and surrender.
  4. If you talk about Manifest, you have to talk about obedience.
  5. Joy and happiness happen when you decide, not when manifestation has occurred.

As I stated in Are You Manifesting Or Manipulating Part I, repent and move forward if you are guilty of trying to manipulate God. He is not a God of shame but of love. His arms are wide open ready for you to go deeper with Him.

If you desire to live a life you don’t need a vacation from, seek the Father with intention.

Ask Hi….

How do I need to pray about this?

Is this your will, God?

Ask Him to show you signs and wonders.

Write down your prayers and answers so that you record the move of God in your life.

Remember that prayer is a conversation. So, talk to God, and don’t forget to listen for His answer. If you need a Prayer and Dream journal, Click Here.

We live in a era that wants things quick and easy. Yet, if God operated that way, we would never seek Him. We would never depend on Him. Most importantly, we would never get to a place of relationship with Him. It doesn’t always feel good, and it doesn’t always make sense to trust God. In fact, things often don’t make sense when God is moving. (We live by Faith and not by sight) That’s when God gets all the glory. Obedience is not about what you want at the moment, but will get you to what you need and ultimately desire. Make room for God to work a miracle in your life today.
