I had to share this. It seems like today what is popular, whether it be books, movies or music is not always “great” or timeless. Nowadays, you can create a song that makes no lyrical sense and it can become an instant hit because of a well-known artist or the beat behind it. The same goes with books, a bestseller doesn’t have to be great writing any more, just content that excites people. It would be great if more of us would strive to create timeless pieces and not just what is currently popular. Thanks for the thought Anthony
“…one of us will create that next timeless masterpiece” -Anthony Taylor
Prepare yourselves! 2016 is among us. Another year for us to publish our most profound work and get accepted into the Super Supreme Writer Association.
Wondering what that is, I bet? Well, most of the members can be found in artwork at you local Barnes and Noble. Maybe above or around the coffee serving area.
I wonder how you feel about today’s books, though? You think people like us centuries from now will be quoting Neil Gaiman and praising him for his work like we do Poe or Hemingway?
Come on! One of us will create that next timeless masterpiece! Which one of us has that Dante Inferno syndrome going??
Could be you! Could be me! Let’s make it happen in 2016! Happy New Year, synergists! Be safe out there!
I agree! Some of the things out there today rise to fame but have no literary or timeless value. What to do, what to do.
